Guidance materials have been developed by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC), as the Digital ID Regulator, to:
- assist organisations in lodging a valid application for approval to participate in the AGDIS
- assist approved AGDIS entities in understanding their ongoing obligations under the Digital ID legislation.

The purpose of this guidance is to:
- assist organisations that are interested in applying for approval to participate in the AGDIS with lodging a valid application for approval.
- outline the legal framework governing Australia’s Digital ID System, and how the ACCC assesses applications for approval.
- provide information for already approved participants in the AGDIS on how to add, vary or revoke conditions and/or vary, suspend or revoke approval to participate in the AGDIS and includes an overview of compliance obligations.

The purpose of this guidance is to:
- assist entities that have been approved to participate in the AGDIS in understanding their ongoing obligations under the Digital ID legislation
- explain the processes for applying for, or notifying the ACCC, the Digital ID Regulator of, changes to their AGDIS approval.
- explain the ACCC’s approach to promoting compliance with the Digital ID legislation and its powers as the Digital ID Regulator.
The ACCC may update these guidance documents periodically. Organisations should ensure they are reading the latest version by checking the version number within the PDF.
The ACCC’s guidance does not replace the requirement for applicants and approved entities to have a full understanding of the Digital ID legislation.
